Strong Individual Performances Power Team Title Run

The Waterway Duals delivered a full day of competitive action as top youth programs squared off in a dual-team format, and Triumph Middle School rose to the top of the podium with a first-place finish.

Competing against strong opposition throughout the event, Triumph showcased depth, composure, and consistency across its lineup. The dual format created high-energy matchups, with momentum shifting from bout to bout, but Triumph maintained control when it mattered most.

Key Performances Lead the Charge

Several athletes played pivotal roles in the team’s championship run. Tom Ross and John Ross each delivered strong performances in their respective weight classes, helping set the tone early in multiple duals. Their ability to secure bonus points and control matches proved critical in tight team situations.

Anthony D’Alessio continued to demonstrate why he’s considered one of the more reliable competitors in the lineup, wrestling with confidence and poise throughout the day. Jackson Farone and Jake Wenner also added key victories, contributing to the overall team effort that pushed Triumph to the top spot.

Across the board, the middle school squad showed balance—combining technical wrestling, conditioning, and situational awareness to close out important matches.

Team Depth Makes the Difference

While standout performances anchored the lineup, Triumph’s depth ultimately separated them from the field. Dual tournaments demand consistency from every weight class, and the team answered that call, stringing together strong efforts round after round.

By the conclusion of the event, Triumph Middle School had secured first place, capping off a championship performance that highlighted the strength of the program at the youth level.

Waterway Duals once again proved to be a competitive platform for rising talent, and Triumph’s showing reinforces the program’s continued development heading into future competitions.
