Rams Use Bonus Points and Mid-Lineup Surge to Secure Victory
Southern Regional put together a strong team performance to defeat Jackson Township, 43-19, in a dual that featured multiple technical falls and momentum swings throughout the lineup.
The match opened at 157 pounds with a tightly contested battle. Irshod Nazurdinov earned an 8-5 sudden victory decision over Colton Gearl to give Jackson an early lead. Southern answered quickly at 165, where Vincent Esposito recorded a 12-2 major decision over Finley Pazinko to even the score.
Back-and-Forth Early, Southern Gains Control
Akbar Nazurdinov gave Jackson another boost at 175 with an 18-3 technical fall, but Southern responded at 190 as Brady Nolan secured a 1-0 decision in a defensive battle.
Levi Foote shifted momentum at 215 with a fall in 1:45, and although Andrew Chitacapa answered for Jackson with a fall of his own at 285, Southern began to take command once the lineup turned over.
Lower Weights Seal It for Southern
Southern Regional went on a decisive run through the lighter weights. Jonas Lusker recorded a 21-5 technical fall at 106, followed by Nick Banos’ 17-2 technical fall at 113.
Cade Collins continued the bonus-point surge at 120 with a 19-4 technical fall, and Anthony Mason added another technical fall at 126. Dion Mesanko extended the lead further with a 10-4 decision at 132.
Jackson’s Armani McCann stopped the run at 138 with a 16-1 technical fall, but Southern closed the dual strong. Attila Vigilante earned a 17-8 major decision at 144, and Anthony Molinaro capped off the night with a 5-0 decision at 150.
With consistent scoring and a strong stretch through the lower weights, Southern Regional secured the 43-19 team victory.
