The National Freestyle Duals returned to the Jersey Shore on May 4, 2025, delivering a premier freestyle wrestling event that brought together some of the top talent from across the country. As a USA Wrestling–sanctioned tournament following official UWW rules, the event maintained international standards while providing a high-level platform for athletes of all ages.
The dual-format competition featured divisions spanning boys, girls, middle school, and even college-level wrestlers, making it one of the more diverse freestyle showcases of the spring season.
High-Level Teams in Attendance
Several well-known programs were represented at the event, including Flicker Boys, Scorpions, Triumph, and PA Power. Each team brought competitive lineups, contributing to a full day of intense, fast-paced freestyle action.
Freestyle wrestling, known for its emphasis on exposure scoring, leg attacks, and par terre offense, created dynamic matchups throughout the day. The dual format added another layer of intensity, with team momentum often shifting from bout to bout.
Standout Talent on Display
Among the notable athletes competing were Dylan Chalver, Paul Kenny, Robbie Duffy, and Jordan Chapman, all of whom continue to make names for themselves on the national freestyle circuit. Their performances highlighted the depth of talent present at the tournament, with competitive matches across multiple age groups.
With both rising middle school wrestlers and experienced college athletes sharing the mat, the National Freestyle Duals once again proved to be a proving ground for wrestlers looking to test themselves against top-tier competition.
