USA Wrestling’s Final X set to bring world team trials and star power to Newark’s Prudential Center on June 14

Newark, NJ –

The pinnacle of U.S. freestyle wrestling, Final X, is set to electrify the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Presented by USA Wrestling in collaboration with Beat the Streets Wrestling (New York), this marquee event will determine the athletes who will represent the United States at the 2025 Senior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 13–21

What is Final X?

Final X serves as the decisive stage in the U.S. World Team selection process for men's and women's freestyle wrestling. In each of the 20 Olympic weight classes—10 for men and 10 for women—the top two competitors will engage in a best-of-three series to secure their spot on Team USA.

Notably, the Greco-Roman World Team members were determined earlier this year at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas, so Final X will focus exclusively on freestyle disciplines.

Star-Studded Lineup

Several prominent wrestlers have accepted automatic bids to Final X based on their performances at the 2024 Olympic Games and World Championships. Among them are:

  • Spencer Lee: 2024 Olympic silver medalist at 57 kg.

  • Vito Arujau: 2024 World bronze medalist at 61 kg.

  • Helen Maroulis: 2024 Olympic bronze medalist at 57 kg.

  • Macey Kilty: 2024 World bronze medalist at 65 kg.

These athletes will face challengers who earned their spots through the U.S. Open and the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, ensuring high-stakes matchups throughout the event.
