Crusaders Prepare With Focused Training, Returning Leaders, and Strong Team Chemistry
As the 2025–2026 wrestling season approaches, the Bergen Catholic Crusaders are already deep into preparation with a blend of experienced leaders and rising talent poised to make an impact. Known for their competitive tradition in New Jersey and nationally, the Crusaders enter this season with confidence and clear goals.
Bergen Catholic has long been one of the cornerstones of New Jersey high school wrestling, consistently producing quality wrestlers who compete at a high level and often continue the sport beyond high school. With winter competition just around the corner, the team’s offseason work has emphasized both individual development and building a cohesive, championship-caliber lineup.
Veteran Leadership Anchors the Room
Returning state placers and upperclassmen leaders have taken charge in the early practices. Their experience provides stability and sets the tone for the rest of the roster. With leadership comes accountability, and these veterans are helping to instill expectations for intensity and effort among the younger wrestlers.
Experienced competitors inside the room are working on refining technique, sharpening setups, and increasing mat awareness. Their presence also pushes underclassmen to elevate their game, creating an internal competitive environment that mirrors the intensity of actual matches.
Strong Offseason Work
The Crusaders’ preparation has included focused conditioning sessions, situational drilling, and live wrestling designed to simulate match pressure. Coaches have emphasized the importance of being prepared physically and mentally, especially in close matches where positioning and resilience often determine the outcome.
Offseason tournaments and camps have also played a role, offering valuable experience and helping wrestlers build momentum as they head toward duals, tournaments, and postseason competition.
Embracing Team Culture
One of Bergen Catholic’s greatest strengths has been its culture—wrestlers who support one another while pushing each other to improve. This culture has translated into hard work in the practice room, strong attendance at optional training, and an overall sense of unity as the season approaches.
Team chemistry will be key once competition begins, and early signs point to a group that’s ready to battle together and represent their school with pride.
Eyes On the Upcoming Season
With preseason expectations high, the Crusaders are sharpening their tools and refining their strategies. Coaches and athletes alike are talking about controlling pace, executing fundamentals, and rising to the occasion when key moments arise.
As competition draws closer, it’s clear that Bergen Catholic is preparing for a strong season—one that could bring renewed success and memorable performances.
